'Fess up!... What's the best scam you've ever pulled?
For being a legend at work - I was "rewarded" with a special work scratchcard - and scratched off "Finish work an hour early".

However, because no-ones taken it off me, I've used it 4 times now... give it a few weeks and I'll be claiming it again...

Hardly Brinks Mat I know but It's the little victories I suppose...

I've got another small victory I'll share...

Before I went self employed I was working for a local authority. At the time we were all given leave cards which needed to be signed by your manager and were kept by you.

I'd been there 10 yrs so I was already on 35 days holiday, plus all the bank holidays.
My line manager was a lazy, incompetent cunt. Full of bullshit and bluster, didn't know his arse from his elbow.

He was always off for some reason or another, 4 months off when his Mrs left him....which meant there was nobody around to sign my leave card.

My little apprentice and myself must have had a good 50 days holiday each that year.

Now I'm self employed I've forgotten what a days holiday looks like.

that can be the case in Hong Kong. One recently sold for HK$6 million (approx US$770k, or just under 600 grand sterling (at today's exchange rate - though HK$6m would more usually equate to around a mere half million quid)

One report on it here:

https://www.businessinsider.com/hong-kong-world-record-most-expensive-parking-spot-2018-6

Note the guy flipped it for over US$300k profit in 9 months...

When I was a student I worked at the Coca Cola factory in Footscray. Coca Cola were running a promotion where if you collected some tokens from the labels on the bottles, you could get some free stuff/merch.

So me and my mate nicked rolls of the labels from the machine that was putting the labels on. The security guys at the gates were solid and couldn't give a fuck if you nicked anything or not so we were never searched.

I think I got a a pair of CD decks out of it. I lost interest after that but my mate (who was a lot more dedicated to it that me) ended up filling his whole house with goods.

The greatest trick the devil ever produced was convincing the world that he didn't exist.

I had a great time, FC.

Glad I went. Even if it was to see a load of front wheels choke on the night.......

I shagged a bird who used to dance in metropolis, purely on the basis she thought I was somebody else, mistaken identity basically.

I’m not sure if that’s a good thing, or a bad thing. Or something I should be admitting to on here.

Got into Russia on a moody fan ID, with no ticket. Seems like once I was out there, so did every other fucker, but coming via a train from Helsinki it was a bit hairy when I got to the Russian border. There were OB, Army the lot on the train, scrutinising everybody’s documents, and in the middle of nowhere. Made it to Moscow though.

If that's with regard to ATMs, it used to be very easy. Bean counters running the banks decided to save money on the bulk purchase of the cases that hold the notes by having just one design - as they were all physically indistinguishable, a monkey replacing these cases (and it was always a monkey) quite often got it wrong.

It was actually one of the first questions I raised when taken on to update ATM maintenance procedures, and it was met with an embarrassed wall of silence followed by an emergency resolution.

New build flats 15 years ago. More flats than available car parking spaces.

Not uncommon in densely populated cities in some parts of the world for car parking spaces to cost a lot more than a new car.

£55? that's a bargain, I had to pay £100 for the moody key fob for the car park when I lived in a flat. Think it was 7k to buy a legit parking space.

Mind you I punted it for a ton to the bloke who bought my flat so all good.

I live on a little private estate that has all the usual benefits like a concierge, Gym, cricket pitch and pavilion all on-site.
My flat doesn't have a parking space allocated to it.
I moved in 4 years ago and helped myself to a parking space I'd noticed wasn't being used, the only problem was I didn't have a clicker for the security gates.
I bribed the concierge and got him to order me one. 4 years later I'm still enjoying the private parking for the £55 it cost me for the gate fob.

I managed to blag a pile of headed paper from my sixth form college before I left and used it to write letters confirming my student status to the WH ticket office to get half price season tickets for a good few years.

Also managed to get extra playoff final tickets for Cardiff by logging in multiple times. The system didn't seem to block me after my first purchase.

Re: 'Fess up!... What's the best scam you've ever pulled?
i pulled a series of stunts in 94-95 many of which made the national press and earned me a nice income for a year selling the stories to the press, some will be remembered by the over 45 year olds, the most famous was when i posed as a lottery winner, garages lent me a host of prestige cars porsche etc, made the front page of the sun, lost count of the number of tv appearances i made, being put up in hotels etc, i recorded a song about the stunts i pulled, the sun were going to have one of those phone lines where you phoned up to listen to it, but that twat grobbelar got done for match fixing and it dominated the papers for days so the chance was lost, i had a year or so of fun, if you have the front you can get away with plenty.

Know a few people who reckon they've literally never paid for water and it's illegal for them to cut you off.
